Food Education
Real food. Practical skills. A better food culture.
We believe that learning about food should be hands-on, enjoyable and delicious.
La Bonté CIC is developing a programme of practical food workshops for children and young people, helping them understand where food comes from, how to cook with seasonal ingredients and how to build the skills and confidence to prepare real food for themselves.
Our workshops are designed to be curious, practical and fun — getting young people cooking, tasting, experimenting and thinking differently about the food they eat.
Autumn 2026: Food Workshops for 10–13 year olds
This autumn we're piloting a series of hands-on food workshops for young people aged 10–13, exploring seasonal ingredients, cooking skills, flavour and what makes food both delicious and nourishing.
The workshops will be practical and collaborative, with plenty of cooking, tasting and eating along the way.
More details and booking information coming soon.
Why food education?
We're surrounded by more highly processed food than ever, yet many young people have fewer opportunities to learn how to cook with simple, seasonal ingredients.
We want to help change that.
Our longer-term aim is to develop practical food education that can be delivered in schools, community settings and family programmes, giving young people the skills and confidence to cook, understand food and develop a lifelong appreciation for good ingredients.
A little bit of La Bonté
Food education is an important part of La Bonté's work as a Community Interest Company. Alongside our catering, we want to use food as a way of improving health, building practical skills and strengthening food culture in our local communities.
